In the great Debt Ceiling debate--President Obama has (yet again) demonstrated that he is a rigid, left-wing ideologue.
Why? Because in every syllable of towering rhetoric the Confiscator and Chief declares that tax increases are the only way to fix our ailing economy.
This convoluted logic spits in the face of historical reality. Tax reductions have been implemented four times since the 1920's--and in every case not only did the economy dramatically improve--but revenues to the federal government rose.
It seems that Obama's once towering rhetoric is now a towering turd.

You imply a metamorphosis from "rhetoric" to "turd". I submit, "turd" to "turd" or perhaps "towering turd" to "flaming turd".
